Swiss/Australian composer team

Diego Baldenweg with Nora Baldenweg & Lionel Baldenweg are a multi award-winning composer team. The Swiss/Australian siblings compose and produce original music for TV series and feature films.

Collaborative spirit and strong sense of dramaturgy

The Baldenwegs have been working together since 20 years and are respected for their collaborative spirit and strong sense of dramaturgy.
They bring an open minded approach to projects and have the ability to compose unique and convincing scores. Diego is the main composer while Nora and Lionel give their inputs as Co-Composers. Lionel further manages their productions and keeps their creative vision together. Nora brings the female perspective into their process and is the creative bridge between the brothers.

They are a unique voice in film music with a talent to compose compelling music in different styles for different genres.
The typical Baldenweg sound revolves around orchestral compositions and arrangements, emotional and memorable themes, rhythmical grooves and ambient textures often with a subtle use of vocals and electronic sounds.

They have built up a strong network of music specialists, acclaimed musicians, top orchestras and conductors including maestro David Zinman, Paavo Järvi, Kevin Griffiths, Pepe Lienhard, Roberto González-Monjas, Daniel Hope and Dirk Brossé.

Original music for TV series and feature films

The Baldenwegs have written film music for over 20 films like the world bestselling children's book adaptation THE LITTLE WITCH starring Karoline Herfurth, the international remake of Til Schweiger's German box office hit HEAD FULL OF HONEY starring Emily Mortimer and Academy Award Nominees Nick Nolte & Matt Dillon, as well as for the Oscar nominated LA FEMME ET LE TGV starring Jane Birkin. Their score to THE REFORMER ZWINGLI was nominated for "Score of the Year: Public Choice" at the World Soundtrack Awards.

Their most recent score is for Robert Lorenz's Irish Western IN THE LAND OF SAINTS AND SINNERS starring Academy Award Nominees Liam Neeson, Kerry Condon and Ciarán Hinds - The film premiered at the 80. Venice International Film Festival and was released theatrically in the US in March 2024. Their score received much praise by critics and was nominated for "Score of the Year" (Movie Music UK Awards), "Score of the Year: Public Choice" and "Discovery of the Year" (World Soundtrack Awards).

They have also composed the original music for the international TV series THE UNLISTED (ABC/Netflix), ITCH (ABC/BBC) and BORN TO SPY (ABC/BBC), for which they were each nominated for an Australian Academy Award (AACTA).

They have won numerous awards and their music has been played on radio stations including Swiss National Radio, Klassik Radio and BBC Radio 3.
